The workflow I was hoping for was:

1) Drag out a selection grid of exactly 1 bar.
2) Slide the ruler to move the  ruler's first bar of a measure to the beginning of my selection.  (705.1 in this example).
3) Anchor the ruler so that it won't move when I drag the tempo indicator.
4) Drag the tempo up and down until the 4 beats (705.1->706.1) align with my selection.

At this point, as long as the song is consistent I should be able to easily identify the beats.

is this possible?  I've tried various combinations but not been able to do this.

Thanks!

By the way, loving the software so much!  I just purchased the Perpetual License.

Hi,

Thank you for purchasing our software.

Currently, Soundop does not support shifting the time ruler. However, you can align the beats if your time selection starts from the beginning. One possible workaround is to delete the audio that falls before the measure range, and then use the undo function to restore it after measuring the tempo.

Welcome your further suggestions.

Best regards,

So in thinking about this more, this actually doesn't work, because it's not that I want to measure the BPM, it's that I want the beat grid to be aligned to my audio file.

However, I noticed in the Mixspace view, I can move the clip forward and backwards very easily, which allows me to align my clip right to the beat  grid.  Have you considered adding the functionality to move a clip forward and backwards inside of the Audio File editng view?  This would help a lot.

Hi,

There are no clips in the audio file editor. You might consider inserting silence at the beginning of the audio file to align the beats with the grid.

Best regards.
